Books We Recommend:

Discipleship

Discipleship is the second and oft-neglected part of the Great Commission. We are to go into all nations and preach the gospel, and once we have seen people come to the Lord, we are to “teach them all I have commanded you.” Here are a few recommended books on discipleship.

Grounded in the Faith by Kenneth Erisman

This is a book for laying a consistent, systematic groundwork for the Christian life. Erisman explains, “The aim of this book is to see the church flourish for the glory of God. We are convinced that by designing this guide to be user-friendly but at the same time keeping Reformation depth, followers of Christ will have a transferable tool to become grounded in the faith.”

An Infinite Journey by Andrew Davis

What Davis attempts to do in this book, and what he accomplishes well, is to map out the journey toward Christian maturity. I completely agree with Don Whitney who says, “Besides the Bible, it would be difficult to find any other single resource with more biblically sound, theologically rich, pastorally helpful, and practical insight about Christian growth than this book.”
